Time has judiciously progressed and Runescape is no longer a hobby which I can engage in.. Those of you who I played with probably notice that I have left the game derelict to the extreme.

There is even a new skill out (I've heard) and I have not had the time to check it out. School, work, friendships, college decisions, and many more things have all taken a higher priority leaving little room for playing a game such as Runescape which is quite demanding of one's time.

I don't regret for one minute the time that I spent playing; which may I add, is quite a lot. I learned life lessons regarding many important topics through playing Runescape; I have made friends and interacting with numerous amounts of people. The time was a fun time. However, for the time being it is most definitely over.

Thank you everyone who made Runescape such an awesome game. I had an awesome time playing with you guys :-)

I was hesitant about writing a second post. I wanted surety that I was actually dedicated to be playing Runescape again. It has been well over 12 days now. I am sure.

A lot has happened during these past twelve days. I maxed out my attack skill while training at the dagannoths. Two levels were not that hard to tackle. Runetinal (I hope I'm spelling that right bro lol with all these name changes now its hard to keep track ;) and Matt showed up to celebrate the final hit to level 99 attack. They both were kind enough to accompany me to purchase my cape of achievement.

While trying to purchase the cape Rune and I made complete fools of ourselves. We both knew that the Master of Attack was located in the Warriors Guild. However we were not at all sure where. We ran around for a few minutes laughing at ourselves and searching frantically for the fellow. In the end we found him near the entrance which was the last place we looked. Haha, good times =)

Last night my good friend Kjarqu and I went to fight the King Black Dragon; Darbeh also tagged along. When we arrived we found a few extremely nooby archers and an odd assortment of other players. The majority of the players quickly left due to the fact that Kjarqu and I were getting all the kills. Only two nooby archers remained. Kjarqu being the kind guy that he is let them join our CC. After a good many kills we convinced them to leave. And then it happened. We got a Draconic Visage! Kjarqu got the drop. It was pretty sweet. Darbeh and I now have a load of loot share potential.

In the regards to training I am currently working on defense. Having already maxed out the other two melee skills I feel the need to complete the trio. I may do a few quests here and there. I recently finished the quest entitled Fremenick Isles; it being such an old quest I was quite embarrassed that I had never done it.

It is indisputably laughable that my last three posts in a row were all posts with the general purpose of stating something along the lines of, "I am returning from a long break of runescape, Heck yes I'm back!"

I haven't been steady in regards to my Runescape playing by any means. However, I have been playing the last few days. It has been fun catching up with old friends. I'm not making any promises as to if I'm going to keep playing since the past three times I have not upheld my decision.

I applied to join an old friends (kicky's and lime's) GDWS clan. Hopefully I will be able to make some trips down into the treacherous dungeons with them. My past memories of God Wars trips are very nice; I had great times killing bosses down there.

I have been training attack at my old faithful spot, the dagannoths under the lighthouse. I am 65k experience away from 98 attack at the time of writing this. All training I do in the near future will almost certainly be based around combat since this aspect of the game as always been my favorite.

A return trip?

I am returning from what has been a rather long break from Runescape. I feel poorly about not leaving a message here about my hiatus; oh well, not much can be done about that now.. I had intended on quitting Runescape for good. However there is a rather uncanny saying among Runescapers that goes along the lines of, "You can never quite quit Runescape for good. You always find your way back." I have found this saying to be true time and time again.

I am extremely excited to start playing Runescape again. Today I renewed my membership and logged on for a little bit and talked to some good friends who I missed during my break. During the short time I was on I noticed several small updates and tweaks that impressed me.

Perhaps one of the updates that excites me the most is not technically released yet. The "Adventure Log" is in beta form and was accidently leaked a few days ago. The Log contains several interesting stats about a Runescape player's career. One of the key stats is total time spent in game. I found that I have spent a total of 77 days and 13 hours playing runescape on my account. This number is about what I would have guessed, even so it is really cool to know exactly. Most of my friends have many more hours logged than me. Timothy Gold, an old clan mate, has a whopping 486 days logged in game. The link to his blog, which is extremely well written is in my blog roll.

All in all I am filled with excitment to be back and I have BIG PLANS.

Every time I log into a new computer at the place where I work I have to go through the annoying task of re-adding my list of favorites. In this process I have to delete the default and useless favorites that come pre-installed. In the past I've always just sort of mass deleted them and not really paid much attention to them. Today I noticed that one of the folders was called "HP Recommended Sites." Out of curiosity I clicked on it to see what kind of Internet sites HP would recommend. To my surprise I found only one site, HP's own home page. I got a good laugh out of this and continued deleting folders full of worthless pre-installed favorites.

I wish so badly that I could install FireFox on computers that I have to use at work. I've asked our IT department and they've told me, "no, you can just use Internet Explorer 6." I could go on an extremely long rant about how much I hate Internet explorer 6 but I'll keep it short by saying that currently Internet Explorer is in its 8th version with a 9th being worked on. I have no idea what our IT department sees in Internet Explorer 6 but it seems like it is time to let go. Internet Explorer 6 is way less secure when compared with its newer versions.

In Runescape I am done fishing and woodcutting for the Summer Skill Competition 2. I gained 3 levels in each skill which puts me at level 73 in each. I gained a total of 518k experience spread across the 2 skills and I made around 2 million gold.

Yesterday I started slayer back up again. I'm planning on maxing out attack via slayer. Hopefully I'll make some money doing this since I would like to purchase a God Sword sometime soon.

Ascended Phoenix is doing really well. New applicants are coming in and I feel growth. Its exciting to be a part of the community. If you're ever looking for a clan to join come check us out.

There were two updates today in Runescape. I haven't had a chance to check them out but I was able to read about them. There is a new slayer monster, pub, and animations for most melee weapons. I'm most excited about the slayer monster. It requires level 78 slayer which is just a bit above my current level. I'll have to train quickly so that I can kill it.

Hey everyone, I know its been awhile. I've been extremely busy though. So there isn't much that could be done about it. In the time between my last post and this one a lot has happened! To start off I am now 18 years old. It seems crazy that I'm that old; it still hasn't really sunk in. Also, I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned it but I play bass guitar in a band. Anyways, my band won our cities battle of the bands competition last month. It was really exciting since we had only been playing together for about a month and a half prior to the competition. As a prize for winning we won some money as well as being entered into the regional contest. We've been working and practicing diligently so hopefully we do well. The contest is on August 8th.

I had a bit of a slow down in regards to my Runescape activity in the past month. However, its picking back up again. I am currently working on fishing for Ascended Phoenix's Summer Skill Competiton 2. The competition is slow skills. I'll probably switch off between fishing and woodcutting. I don't think I'll win since I don't have enough time. I do plan on getting the required event attendance xp which is 500k.

My clan, Ascended Phoenix, had its first real war the other day. We fought the Elite Hunters. The odds were against us. We started out with 12 and they with 24. They ended up winning with 6 people left. If we had a few more people show up I'm sure we would have won. Needless to say it was good fun. I hope to fight them again.

My attack level is at 95 now, about half way to 96. I think I'll take it to 99 via slayer. My money is starting to build up again. I'm at around 10 mil or so. Hopefully I'll increase it a bit with the harvest from the fishing and woodcutting.

I also recently purchased a netbook. Its an Asus Eee 1005HA. I love it! It runs extremely well for its specifications and it will be perfect for taking notes in class. It runs runescape very well in low detail as well. The 10.1" screen is just the perfect size for it. One of the sweetest things about it is that it boasts a 7+ hour battery life. This is really nice because I can take it to work with me and not have to plug it in.

I've continued to primarily train my melee skills with slayer. I've taken the occasional break with afk training at dagannoths. My slayer level is up to 72. I'm rather impressed by it. However, I do want 85 slayer and the ability to kill abyssal demons. I always thought I would never be able to kill abyssal demons and now it doesn't seem that far out of reach.

My attack level is up to 94. My combat level is at 124.

Ascended Phoenix is doing quite well. We've been growing quite steadily. Last week we had a trial alliance event with clan NOVA. The event went very well. NOVA is a very established clan so we'll be happy to have them as allies.

This morning Runescape was updated. Jagex made some changes to PVP,the bounty hunter crater, and graves.. In addition to some other small things. I found a rather interesting glitch while I was trying out the PVP worlds. I was in camelot at the time. I had just teled and was getting rushed with by and ancienter with a whip. Not having much food I absentmindedly clicked the logout button though I'm sure it was too late for it to work. To my sheer disbelief I was logged out! Needless to say I wasn't convinced. I tried it another four times and all four times it worked! I'm sure that Jagex has fixed it by the time I'm writing this but it was kinda interesting to find such a blaring bug.

Hey guys, lots of things have happened. The skill of the month contest has started! I basically achieved all the goals I had set to accomplish prior to the start of it.

Its currently the 3rd day of the competition and by the end of the night I should have almost 2 mil experience. I'm in a strong second place behind Ddaanniiellh. He's already past 2.5 mil xp o.O He's a cool guy though and we've doing stuff in between our training like God Wars and Giant Mole Hunting.

Jagex has updated the game with the addition of dungeon maps and a new style of HP bars for both monsters and players. I don't really like or dislike the new HP bar though there are many people who have very strong opinions about it. I'm having to re-learn how to gauge when to heal since the new ones are much longer.

The other day I took ascended phoenix on a God Wars raid. All was going very well. We had a very nice amount of people show up and our third kill we got a Bandos HIlt! A 1.8 mil split, was nice. Then my computer lagged and I got sent back to Falador by my ring of wealth. I hurried back to tank for my team. I got back to the dungeon and after a few kills my computer blue screened on me while I was tanking! I lost aproximately 3.5 mil in armour. It wasn't good. My clan mates couldn't bless my grave since Jagex has stupidly made it that your grave dissapears if you log out.

So now instead of training at the Dagannoths as originally planned I'm mostly training via slayer to try and make up some of the money that I lost.

The Beginning of Summer.

Hey guys, my last day of school was yesterday! It feels awesome to be done. Now I just need to find a job for this summer lol...

Anyways, quite a few things have happened in Runescape. Last saturday we (ascended phoenix) had a Godwars Dungeon event. I had just posted it up on the forums a few days before so I was rather surprised when 7 people showed up. We all geared up and went of to fight Bandos. After getting our kill count we found that our real problem would be finding an empty world. We had four of us all switching around throughout the servers trying to find an empty world. It was very frustrating. Eventually I just had to make the call. I had switched to a world with only 5 people in the room killing bandos. I told everyone to come. There were a few complaints and rough comments when my clan mates realized that the five people we would be competing against for the kill were probably an average level of 130. Needless to say we actually started getting a few kills. And then it happened. Somehow we killed General Graador himself. I noticed the drop seemed to slow up for about half a second and then some green letters showed up in my chat box. We had received a bandos chestplate drop! With about 6 of us left we each received 2.2 mil. Not bad for only being in the room about 10 minutes.

Since then, and currently I'm getting my range level to 70. I've been putting it off because it is my least favorite combat skill. However, I should have 70 before the day is over. In other news the clan's new competition is coming up. Its combat based and everyone is very excited including me. Since the contest is based of melee, hitpoints, and slayer my plan is going to go something like this:

This week before the contest starts: Get 70 range, 70 summoning, and 70 prayer.
For the comp:
- Get 99 attack (probably at dagannoths)
- Get 90 defense, possibly 99 I'm not sure if I want to do this.
- After this I'll probably train slayer even though I dislike it.

Money, Money, Money!

Hey guys, I've just made a very large investment and I'm really hoping that it turns out well. I spread my money between four items equally. I even sold my whip! I may be insane but I really wanted to max my gain for this round of investments. I've got about 15 mil on the table with one of the largest investing clans in Runescape. I'm keeping a very, very, detailed record of this transaction. I'll post it in a week when its all over! =) If anyone wants to get in on some of the items its still early, they were just announced today. They are: Uncut Dragonstones and crystal keys. As a side note you can also grab the halfs of crystal keys ;-)

I've decided that I really want to get at least 94 magic. Its going to be quite awhile but I might end up runecrafting to get it. I'm not sure yet >.> I've got a few ideas for goals floating around in my head. The new pvp worlds are really pushing me to get my magic level up though. I also need to get my ranged level up. It's rather embarrassing for a level 118 to only have 50 range. But what can I say?, its my least favorite combat skill. I don't know what it is, I just really like magic more.

Also, this past weekend I led my clan on a revenant hunting event. It was great fun. We slew many revenenants. We even took down the chaos elemental quite a few times.

Wilderness Update!!!!

My heart jumped a beat when I refreshed the page after being logged out because of a system update. Jagex has introduced Bounty Hunter worlds. I'm thrilled! They're awesome!

They've done a great job of incorporating risk and gain. The suspense of trying to track down and kill your target is also very appealing. I'm sure I'll have more thoughts on it after I've experienced it more. It came out just a few hours ago.

In other news I'm going to be starting a Runescape based YouTube channel. I'm planning on covering game updates along with monster killings and a whole variety of different things. My first video went up today. Its of me in the new Bounty Hunter worlds. I got a pretty good drop. If you would like to subscribe to my channel that would be sweet ;-)

New Adventures

Hey everyone. I've been doing some exciting things in Runescape. For the first time in my Runescape career I actually consider myself high leveled. At 115 combat I can do a lot of things that were never possible before.

Me and my good mate scotty0303 have been going and killing some of the highest leveled monsters in all of Gilenior. We've killed the King Black Dragon, the Kalphite Queen, and two of the gods in the god wars dungeon.

It has been lots of fun. Our luck hasn't been that good in regards to drops. However its really the fun times that are the most valuable in my opinion. The teamwork, comraderee, and sheer thrill of killing really big monsters is such a blast.

We've (scotty and I) been motivated to train our combat levels further so that we will be able to better tackle the god wars dungeon. Currrently I'm going to train my defense level to 85 and my attack level to 90. Then I'll probably get my prayer and summoning level up.

In other news Ascended Phoenix has been doing well. Scotty and I are looking to recruit some higher leveled members to do some of the more dangerous events with us. But the clan has been gaining in size and its very exciting to see it grow.

Well I think I qualify for a big FAiL AwArd when you look at the date between this post and the one before it, and then look at the title of the post before this one. I am very ashamed. Anyways, I'll try to be better at posting more.

Things on Runescape have been going well. Ascended Phoenix (my clan), has been very active and growing. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in my last post but I have level 85 attack, 99 strength, and 75 defense. This combination seems rather nice to me. I can see myself getting 99 attack sometime in the very near future though.

I've been working on my non combat skills while merchanting at the Grand Exchange. Lately I've been woodcutting and then fletching the logs I get since the monthly clan competion is based around a group "high XP" skills of which fletching is a member. I don't plan on winning the competion since Neo has a clear calling to win this one. Neo has gotten the insane amount of 7 million experience in only the first 12 days of the competion. I'm at about 200k experience. As of right now I plan on continuing fletching and woodcutting till I get level 70 in the latter and 60 in the former. After that I might take up theiving.

In regards to investing, my good friend and co-Review Staff moderator in Ascended Phoenix gave me a handy tip. He mentioned that he had been buying flax 1 gold piece under the medium price and then selling it back for 2 gold pieces over the medium price. Being curious I decided to give it a whirl. I proceded to make about 2 million gold in a week. It was really cool. It has slowed down a little bit and price changed can be tricky to navigate but it is a really good tip. Currently Scotty and I are investing in Berserker Necklaces and Ahrim's Hoods. Hopefully they'll be a good turn out.

Let me start off by saying that I have been terrible in my posting habits. I want to start posting at least every other day, for sure three times a week.

I've been very active in Runescape. As I'm writing this I just got level 114 combat which is about 10 levels or so more than the last time I posted I believe. I'm up to level 84 attack, 72 defense, and 59 summoning. Last night was the first time I had ever trained summoning. It was relatively easy to get two level 59 in about 2 hours. I gathered most of my secondary ingredients as well. I've got major load of charms in bank from getting 99 strength at the dagannoths. The one thing that is a major drawback to the skill is the amount of money it requires. The thing that really gets me is that there is no way to get around the cost. You have to BUY shards to make pouches; there isn't any secondary method of getting them like collecting them. Putting that one negative aside the skill is very cool. The familiars are well made and their abilities are very helpful. Also, the training rate of the skill is very fast provided you have the money for shards and have collected the charms from monster drops.

I have also done the Zogre Flesh Eater Quest. The quest was very dull and boring in my opinion. I did it as a pre-requirement for A First Resort Quest which I will hopefully be doing soon. I still need to attain the hunter level for the quest. The thing that bugged me the most is that one spot of the quest seemed like it was very glitchy and mis-coded. Granted it was only one small room, but still it was very annoying.

My clan has been very active. Ascended Phoenix is a very awesome clan. I've been promoted to Recruitment Officer which is the second highest rank. We have gone on a few recruiting events and have gathered in quite a few new members. If you're looking for a good clan to join I would recommend Ascended Phoenix. I'm starting to make some good friendships within the clan as well. In particular Scotty0303 and I have seemed to hit it off pretty well. He's a cool guy. Investing.

I have embarked upon an investing adventure! Its by no means that dramatic of an event but it is quite interesting. I have always aspired to "get around" to investing and learning about it. However, the thing that provided the final push and made me decide to actually try investing seriously was a guide posted in my clan's forums by Scotty0303. (I've provided the link if you would like to take a look ;-) Scotty has been talking to us all and educating us about stuff he has learned. Thanks scotty! =)

While learning about investing I've been fishing lobsters. My fishing level was rather pathetic and I want to get it up to at least level 70. So far I've fished about 2k lobsters. Fishing is a rather enjoyable skill but the experience gained is usually very slow. An advantage is the fact I can usually let my character fish by himself while I study charts and investing.

I'll be keeping very detailed records of all items and prices that I'm going to be working with and I'll post them occasionally.

I actually have made 100k in one day so far investing! I looked at some graphs for awhile and decided to try a dragon two handed sword. They looked to be about as low as they were going to go so I tried buying one. I got it at minimum price! Then the next day they went up and I sold it at max price in no time at all. It was pretty sweet.

A flurry of activities.

Following the momentous occasion of my first level 99 I engaged in a little spree of spending money and pking for celebratory measure. After doing just "ok" at pking, I decided that I really need level 99 attack if I'm going to monetize my level 99 strength.

I haven't really set it to be a final goal but I'm slowly working towards 99 attack. I'm training it with slayer. Slayer is much less dull than the dagannoths. And the drops are very interesting. I haven't had any good drops yet except for clue scrolls. My clue scroll luck hasn't been anything to be proud of.. The best item I've received from the last batch of level 3 clues was a torn page worth about 250k.

Actually as I'm writing this I'm doing another clue scroll.. Now heading off into the wilderness.. Killing a Zamarok wizard. Now gotta go talk the gnome coach.. Sighh another coordinates one.. Off to the moss giants in the wilderness O.o ... I better get something good for this. OMG.. Nothing but crap.. some addy bolts and sharks.. oO some white firelighters.. woo I'm so lucky.. Sighh and I almost died from a revenant. Only 30 hp left O.o

My school work is starting to require more attention. Because of this my Runescape playing time will see a decrease in value. Hopefully it won't be too big of a decrease.

99 Strength!

I've finally done it! I've achieved my first level 99 in Runescape! Its quite a nice feeling. I actually got it a few days ago and I've been pondering what I should do now. Since I'm low on gold my current plan is to get 70 agility and then train on blue dragons.

The shortcut in Taverly will speed up the rate at which I can gather dragon hides. Once I have a fair amount of cash I think I'll start investing it in the Grand Exchange. I've heard from several friends that investing is very profitable. What little money I have at the moment has been spent on pking supplies.

My little brother got 85 magic so we'll be going on a few pking expiditions. With Morowhen (my little brother) tel-blocking and entangling and me laying on the dds special and whip we should have some pretty sweet times.

My Second To last.

I got my second to last strength level! I am now only one level away what I would say has been my longest Runescape goal thus far. As I'm writing this I have 630k experience to go. I know its a lot but I might be able to get it all today. I may just be successfully deceiving myself, I don't know. However, my rate of gaining experience is pretty fast since I can hit so hard. We shall see!

Quite a few things have happened since my last post. To start things off I left my clan. I had been a part of Blessings for quite awhile and it was sad to leave; however, my departure had been due for awhile. Here is a quote of of my farewell post in the clan forums:

"Well guys I'm sorry to announce that I'll be leaving. I've had a pretty good time here.. I just don't really think that this is the best clan for me. The timezone factor is a pretty big factor given the fact that I'm at -6 GMT and most of you guys are on the other side of the world. Also, there really hasn't been much activity in my opinion in regards to events and stuff like that.. And there has been some weird stuff/conflicts that have left me kinda bug eyed O.o ....Oh and it was kinda annoying that my forum account got deleted 2 times with the post count and settings all gone.. lol but that doesn't really have anything to do with me leaving.. So I just wanted to let you guys know and to say good bye.. You guys were my first clan, and I really had a good time talking to you and getting to know some of you.

I'll still be playing Runescape and stuff so maybe I'll see you around. But I'm going to join a different clan.

I had put off leaving for awhile because I wanted to find another clan to join before I did. I finally found one! The clan's name is "Ascended Phoenix." Pretty sweet eh? I found this clan from a posting in sals forums. Tank708 was advertising and the organization of the post led me to check out the site. Once I got to the site I was very impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was the fact that they had their own domain name (http://ascendedphoenix.net). This is a very good sign because it means that they aren't using some free hosting or forum service. I started looking through the forums and I found very organized well laid out posts, I also found that the clan had only started three days before my finding it. I was looking for a clan that was fairly new. Another thing was that the combat level requirement was 90+ which is a good thing since I really don't like clans full of low level players who really don't commit to playing Runescape at all. All these things added up to the exact sort of clan that I was looking for! So I filled out an application and was accepted :) I'm greatly looking forward to my time with Ascended Phoenix.

In real life I have also been experiencing some rather odd things... :

In case you didn't gather it from those screen shots. I've been laid off at the bank where I worked as a teller. I wasn't the only one, in total there were about 10 people laid off. I was told the bad economy was to blame.. I must admit it has been a rather thrilling life experience. Thrilling may seem to some as an odd adjective to describe getting laid off. However, I tend to be extremely optimistic about everything in life. I filled out a number of applications but I haven't had any responses.

So, my friend and I (my friend worked with me at the bank and was also laid off) decided to take the initiative. We're starting our own business. We both know a lot about computers so were going to repair, build, back up, save, clean, and do many more things to computers. We are still in the beginning stages but things are progressing very quickly. Our website (goodcentscomputers.com) is well on its way to being finished and we've already ordered our business cards. It is very exciting!

Strength Update: As I'm writing this I'm 60k experience away from level 98 strength! Very soon I shall only be one level away from 99 and the strength cape!

Another Strength Level

I've achieved level 97 strength! I also gained a hit points level and am now level 87. Its hard to grasp that I only have two levels to go. It still seems the same.. I think when I get 98 that it will really hit me and that I'll tank it to level 99.

In other news Jagex has released a new achievement diary. This time its based on Seers Village. I'm sure I'll get around to doing all the achievement diaries some day but as of now I haven't finished any of them. And also today, while I'm writing this Jagex released the spell book update that they promised. Players can now change the way their spell book is organized. It isn't as fully featured as they made it sound like it would be. There are only 3 different pre-set options for spells which include: Teleports first, Combat first, and the standard old way. It would be nice if they let you choose where each spell is placed individually.. But oh well, I really don't use magic thaat much.

Jagex has released a few small updates today that really has me excited, well, only one really has me super excited ;-) As of this morning instead of have a 90 second idle logout timer, Runescape now has a 5 minute idle logout timer. Jagex made it clear that the only exception to this will be if you lose connection in which case you will be logged out within 30 seconds.

This update is going to be a big help with my strength training. Since I do most of my training at the Dagannoths, I'm usually just letting my character sit and defend himself. Sometimes I kill the Dagannoths so quickly that I'll be sitting there waiting for them to re spawn; when this happens I'll often end up logged out because of "inactivity".

Now don't get me wrong.. Its not like I'm leaving my desk and doing something else when this happens.. I'm usually just on forums or browsing the web. I have two 22" LCD displays and Runescape usually occupies one of them while I work on the other one.

It is about time Jagex has made this update. It seems as thought it would come sooner or later since they nuked the real world traders.

STRENGTH UPDATE: Currently level 96 with about 800k experience till 97. The end is in sight.

I got level 96 strength. The amount of experience to get to level 97 is more than 1 million! This is the first time I've ever experienced this. It is quite satisfying to know that I've gotten to the point in a skill that it takes more than a million experience to gain another level.

Jagex has also released a new quest. It has something to do with a new familiar that is a Phoenix. I've heard that it is a very short quest.. I won't be doing it because of the summoning requirements. My summoning level is quite low since the only experience I've gotten in the skill have been from the original starting quest and tears of guthix. I believe I'm level 26 or something around that. I had stopped doing tears of guthix because I didn't want summoning to raise my combat level and affect my pvp experience. However, since Jagex has made it that summoning doesn't have to affect your pvp experience if you don't want it to I can start doing tears of guthix again. =) I'll probably post pictures later.

Only 4 More Levels.

Well, I've finally achieved 95 strength. With only 4 more levels to go I'm getting more and more excited. I continue to remain at my two faithful training spots, the Dagannoths and the Warriors Guild.

Jagex has released the Janurary "Behind The Scenes" article. The article details a few of the things that are going to be updated and come out in the next month. The article made a point of saying that they were going to try and work on fixing and tweaking existing game content throughout the year. They will have new content but they want to make sure that the content that they already have is the best that it can be. For example one tweak that really caught my eye for the month of Janurary is that they will be changing the inactive logout timer from the 90 seconds that it currently is to a whopping 5 minutes!! This is extremely good news for me at least. I hate having to log back in every 5 or 10 minutes because I'm doing some long math problem in my homework or something..

Last night after training strength for a bit I took a break. First I went on a little pking excursion/adventure with Kicky. The excursion was a minor profit and was quite fun. After that I did the clue scroll that had been picking up dust in my bank. It was level 2. I didn't get anything extraordinarily good.. But, it was a nice break from the constant strength training.

Well, it is that time again. A new year has begun! I was on Runescape last night widdling down the experience to level 95 strength. I was thinking to myself about what I really want to accomplish this next year in both Runescape and real life. I won't go into the real life things here; but, if you're interested I'm sure I'll post something on my real life blog: http://formulatedthought.com.

Well, the main thing that I want to do is get level 99 strength. It will be my first 99 in any skill and I've been working at it for a long time. The second thing that I really want to do is form a small close knit pking group. It has long been a dream of mine to do this. To create a group that would be a powerhouse and yet stealthy and quick at the same time. The main intent wouldn't be the acquisition of riches; though I'm sure that riches may be a side bonus. The main purpose would be geared around the thrill of the execution of a well laid out plan and strategy. The new PvP worlds are excellent for this. The fact that the whole world is open for combat enables more detailed scenarios. Just imagine taking over a village or a dungeon for awhile. Clearing everyone out. I'm sure there will be some fine YouTube videos to be made if this such a group ever comes to existence that resembles the one painted in my mind.

I have yet to work out the fine points about this group. I thing that it will need a level 99 in each combat skill and each magic book. I really hope that I'll have the time and the motivation to get this whole thing going.

Twas the Season..

Christmas has come and gone. I must say that it was rather nice this year. Very relaxing. I've been able to play a bit of Runescape in the past week. I'm closing in on 95 strength with only 200k experience to go! I'm well over half way to 99 strength and I think I'm over the 3/4 mark.

I did take a break from my constant strength training to do the Christmas events that Jagex had laid out this year. They planned two activities instead of the usual one. The first was a rather easy search for Jack frost. The second was more of a short quest in which I saved Santa Clause from being frozen. Hence Santa was able to deliver Christmas presents to all the good children of Runescape lol =) It was a very nice set of events and I enjoyed the story and dialogue. The rewards weren't shabby either. I got quite a bit of agility experience and a nice Santa suite. Also, I decided that after about 2 years with the same hair cut it was time for a new one. I chose something to fit the winter season. I'll post pictures later.

Its been a long time (a good month I would say) since I've played Runescape. I really enjoyed playing today. It helped me get through homework. I reached level 94 strength, 85 hit-points, and 102 combat. It was a very good leveling day. I also gained 200k strength experience on my next level.

Hopefully I'll be able to get to level 99 strength sometime soon. Real life has been full of big events. I just got back from two weeks in the country of Bangladesh. Me and a team of 17 other people helped out at two orphanages over there. It was really eye opening. If you want to read more about it I'll be posting a longer description on my real life blog. I'm currently 3k experience away from getting 94 strength. Jagex has also released the halloween event a few days ago. I have been saving it for today. I'll do a follow up post with the relevent screen shots =-)

I haven't been able to follow my goal at all. My plan was to get a strength level every three days. However, I've been bombarded with real life things and commitments. I've had tests/speaches to do at school and I've been playing bass quite a bit at various places. I'm by no means saying that I'll give up on any goals that I've set for myself. I'm just sayng that I might have to slow them down a little bit. I'm sure that things will speed up in about a month or so when Christmas break roles around.

Some good news is that my little brother is coming back to Runescape today. He had been grounded from the game by my parents and today is the day he is finally able to play. We had both been on a rather long break (about 3 months for me and maybe 2 months for him) and had decided to come back. I was originally going to wait till he was able to come back but I couldn't wait ;-) He has been playing Jagex's game, Arcanist while he was grounded from Runescape. But now he will be fully fledged back into Runescape. He begins his mage training immediatley. We will make an excellent pking team =)

I've achieved level 93 strength! I gained a total of 380k xp today. I'm quite proud of myself. My goal of getting one strength level every three days is working. Now, I must work on a total of 748,985 experience to get to level 94! It is a lot for 3 days. But I feel that it is possible.

On Saturday I got 450k strength experience. This was enough to give me 92 strength! I am starting to hit harder and harder and the experience is being gained faster and faster.

I've decided that my goal is going to be acquiring 1 strength level every 3 days. This will put me at 99 strength on November 8th, which is a Saturday so It should work out nicely. I can almost feel the cape on my shoulders!

In addition to getting 450k experience on Saturday I did two clue scrolls. I received nothing but junk. It seems like I've gotten nothing but junk for the past year from clue scrolls. However, given the chance that you can actually get a 20 mil item I keep on doing them.

I've decided that the dagganoths are really the best place for experience for me currently. So, I'm going to stay there even though the income isn't spectacular. The herb seeds that they drop are more than enough to pay for the food consumed while there.

Bringing Back Good Memories..

Last night Blessings (my clan) decided that we would try out free to play pking instead of the weekly clan wars event. We donned our rune armor and equipped our team capes. We gathered at Varrok east bank and headed north for the wilderness.

We didn't stay very long in the wilderness because we got piled as soon as we reached the hill giants north of Varrok. We then decided to go to Falador to try out some inner city pking. Once we had regrouped at Falador we joined up with a clan that was about as large as ours. So in total we had about 10 people. We ended up spending most of our time at the greater demons.

It was quite fun. It brought back all the old memories of pking at what it used to be. I'm so glad the Jagex has given us back the old wilderness and PvP.

After the trip I went back to training strength. I'm level 91 now with 400k experience till 92. I may be able to get all of that experience today. Also, I reached 100 combat when I got level 70 defence the other day.

I'm pondering different places to train strength at. I'm still training at the daggonoths and though it is really good xp and doesn't require my to be very attentive, the money gained via drops is not very good. I have yet to decide on some good places. I'm sort of low on cash at the moment. I have about 2.5 million. I've spent quite bit on pking supplies and I would like to have a nice pile of cash available for when I get 99 strength.

I think I've made up my mind on my next goal after 99 strength. I'm almost certain that it will be 85 mage. I really want to be able to use the tele-block spell. It will be extremely helpful when I go pking. My brother is going to be getting 85 mage as well so we will both be able to cast it. I'm not sure if he is going to go past 85 though, he may just switch over to strength since his cash flow is a bit low at the moment. I can't wait till we go pking together.

Last night before the clan event I was pking on members servers and I managed to get a split bark body. This has been the second good drop that I've got. However, a little bit after that I died while being piled in Falador. So far in Pking I think I've about broken even with gain/loss in about the amount of about 350k. This death was enough to get me back to training. I can only win consistently if my skills are better.

PvP worlds! At last!

Jagex has released the long awaited PvP worlds. On the PvP servers you can attack other players almost anywhere. Clans can take over city's! You can travel across the large world of Gielinor and attack players as you see fit. There are a few rules. Here they are:

Fight players (within your level range) anywhere on the map, except in a few safe areas.
Safe areas include banks, respawn points and some guilds.
Level ranges are 10% of your Combat level, plus 5 levels. If you are fighting inside the Wilderness, the Wilderness level is added to this total. Your current attack range is shown on your screen at all times. (The 10% is measured from the higher of the two combatants’ levels.)
Skulling is back – same rules apply. If you initiate combat, you are skulled and on death you will lose all items, with the Protect Item prayer saving one item as normal.
Teleport Block is back in the normal spellbook.
Some minigames are available to play, others are not – please see the Game Guide for more details.
Death drops are back – new rules apply. Drops will be a mixture of items from the defeated opponent’s inventory and items from drop tables specific to PvP worlds. See below for details.

I've been pking a bit over the past two nights and I really have to say the Jagex got it right on this one. Over the past year or so the majority of Jagex's updates have been lacking in creativity and haven't been all that good. Granted there were some good exceptions like the Grand Exchange. However, I really like the system Jagex has created for these new PvP worlds. *Applause*

I've gotten a few good drops so far from pking on the PvP worlds:
-Obsidain Cape
-The better part of a rune set
-Black d hide with rune crossbow and enchanted bolts
-A bunch of amulets and rings

And so it begins.

I just finished signing back up for runescape members! I'm extremely excited to be back. The major contributing factor for me coming back is that my little brother is also going to be coming back. We've got some big plans and we're extremely excited for the pvp worlds.

I had thought that the pvp worlds might come out today since Jagex usually releases updates on Tuesdays. However it looks like I'll be waiting till next week.

I'm going to be continuing with my major goal of 99 strength. I'm currently level 90. However, I am going to start off with getting 70 defence. I'm currently 67. I'm still training at the dagganoths. Feel free to pm me!

I've been away for awhile! I haven't been playing Runescape at all really (I've logged in to check out new updates..).. I don't have much of an excuse except that I'm getting busier with real life things =( I've been working a lot and now school is starting up again. So, I regret to announce that I'm going to be closing this blog temporarily until I start playing Runescape again. I do see me playing sometime in the future.. I just don't know when it will be.

On another note I'm going to be starting a blog relating to things happening in my life and different interesting things about computers as I discover them.. You will be able to read that blog (if you so desire) by going into my blogger profile.

90 Strength and A Gift From Jagex

Jagex has given the Runescape community a huge gift! The graphical update was released on July 1st. This could be considered "ahead" of schedule since they said it would come out in early July. The graphics are phenomenal. The full-screen mode is amazing. Thanks JAGEX!

I've gotten 90 strength! This is the first skill that I have gotten this high. I am training at the dagonnaths, flesh crawlers, and the warriors guild. I spend most of my time at the dagannaths. I've been trying out training on German worlds since it is much more empty. It works quite well. I'm very pleased.

Here is some data that I've been working on. I'm going to do a full paper on it someday. This is just the beginning.

I had a most exciting night last night. Let me tell you about it.

I got home from work at about 6:15. I changed out of my work clothes and hopped on Runescape for a bit while I waited for dinner to be done. I ate dinner and helped my little sister and her friend get dinner since my parents were out to eat. Then my friend called me and reminded me that we were going to watch the TV show "24" tonight. So, my friend nick came over and we started watching 24.

About halfway through one disc my brother yells for me to come help him because he think someone is hacking into his Runescape account. I ran over to see what all the fuss was about. Sure enough it said that his account was logged in. Then he tried again and it said that his password was incorrect! This was astounding to me since I have never in my whole Runescape career been hacked. I quickly ran over to my computer (which is quite a bit faster than the one my brother had been using) and got my brother started on filling out the recovery form. He submitted it and instead of instantly changing his password it said that it would take up to an hour for Jagex to review his claim! He had typed in more than enough info for it to automatically change.. Then I went back to the computer that my brother had been using when he lost his account. I checked some preliminary things and then I noticed that the anti-virus was turned off. I'm not sure who turned it off since my brother vehemently denies that he did. So I ran some different scans and got rid of any spy-ware or viruses. There weren't any viruses but there was some spy-ware. I quickly got rid of it. And then since I had been meaning to do it anyways I installed service pack 3 (xp) and cleaned up the registry.

All this time we had been checking the query and it finally said that they had changed my brother's password to the new one he requested. So we logged on. At first everything seemed OK since his whip was still equipped. Then we checked his bank... There was 300k left of what used to be 6 mil. My brother was both relieved and upset at the same time. I asked him why he didn't have a bank pin and he said that he was afraid he would forget it. I told him that this was no excuse.

Hopefully my brother learned that you should use a bank pin no matter what. It can be tempting to not use it but you should always.

In runescape I got about 100k strength experience at the dagannoths and the warriors guild. I also did a level 2 clue scroll that I recieved from the dagannoths. I got junk from it. I'll post some screen shots when I get home.

Runeshelf's Purpose!

I've decided what Runeshelf.com will be. The central pillar will be a podcast. The podcast will be runescape orientated and will hopefully be an interesting listen for any Runescape player. Surrounding the central pillar will be the forums, user submitted guides, and eventually short video tutorials for various runescape things. There will be other tid bits here and there of content and tools but those will be the main pillars that the site will come to life on (hopefully it does come to life ;-). SO, hopefully the first podcast will be out and ready by this weekend.

I'm hoping that the podcast will draw people in and make the forums more active.

In runescape I've been training strength and doing clue scrolls. I achieved 89 strength this morning. Level 89 strength was enough to push me up to level 98 combat. I'm 37% done with my goal of 99 strength. It sounds crazy but its true.. At level 89 strength I'm only 37% done.. Wow.. But, I'm quite sure that I'll make it to 99. The last time I felt this determined about any Runescape thing was back when I was going for barrows gloves. Which I eventually did get. It took about 2 months in that time I did 40+ quests and trained numerous skills for quests. That was a small goal that I chose to do since it would help me with my big goal of 99 strength. The barrows gloves give +12 strength bonus.

Also I've gotten a real life friend of mine to start playing Runescape again. Nick and his younger brother (cameron) have started playing again after I talked nick into it. This has been quite encouraging to see the list of real life friends who play runescape grow. The major thing that got them to come back is the upcoming graphical updates. The graphical updates do look extremely impressive. I hope that they live up to the hype.

I've joined my first Runescape clan. They are called "blessings". It's a relatively small clan, (currently 31 members including me) but I like it like that. In a smaller setting you are able to get to know everyone. I'm stuck in a flux about what to do with Runeshelf.com . I really am not sure what I'm going to be doing with it. Part of me just wants to take the whole thing down and get my money back from the hosting service until I know for sure what I want to do. And another part of me wants to leave it up until I've decided what to do. I'm really leaning towards the former. I'll probably decide sometime tonight.

If I do nuke it, it won't all be in vain. I have learned quite a lot about web development from runeshelf.com. It was a fascinating and educational experience.

Anyways, in Runescape I achieved 88 strength and 80 hitpoints. I really like the 80 hitpoints since it is my second skill that I have got level 80 in. These two levels weren't quite enough to raise me a combat level.

I'm training at two spots, the dagannoths and cyclops at the warriors guild. I switch between them every now and again. They both drop clue scrolls and I do the clue scrolls when I get them. The dagannoths drop level 2 clue scrolls and the cyclops drop level 3. So far I've gotten nothing but junk from the clue scrolls. I've probably done 20 of them.. I'll post some pictures when I get home.

Last night I needed to take a break from strength training so I went for a round of f2p bounty hunter. I killed a level 95 (i'm 94 on f2p) and got his full rune armor. I was immediatly player jumped (pjed) and I couldn't get a screen shot taken.

So, now I'm back to training strength. I might be able to get 89 strength tonight. Its so close to 90! I can't wait. I know I still have a lot of work to get to 99. I'm sure that I'll make it.

Runescape Graphics 2

The next graphical updates development diary is out! I'm psyched for this update. Jagex has done a splendid job from what I can tell. The screen shots look phenomenal. Honestly Runescape is the second biggest mmorpg in the world. Second only to World of Warcraft. They are slowly but surely coming up against World of Warcraft. I can see them one day overcoming them.

Anyways, I am wondering about scaling problems. Jagex has said that the original low and high detail modes will still be available. In my mind there has to be an advantage to one of the modes. I'm not sure which it will be, the new mode or the old ones. But hopefully they will figure out a way to make it equal. It would be terribly unfair if the new version was better and people with old computers were at a disadvantage in places like bounty hunter.

But, honestly I think pretty much everyone will have the system specs that Jagex has announced. If they don't then honestly it's time to upgrade.

A new strengthy cause

Well, the other day I was thinking about what it will be like to pk in bounty hunter when I have 99 strength. It suddenly occurred to me that I'll need a big supply of rune defenders to avoid wasting time going back and getting one every time that I die.

SO, I've been training strength at the warriors guild diligently working on my collection of rune defenders. I've got 6 of them so far. While I've been training I have gotten 2 level 3 clue scrolls (the cyclops drop them). When I get them I quick do them. It troubles me to take time away from training strength but the chance of a really good reward makes me do them. So far I haven't gotten much. Only 2 rune plates and some other random junk.

I have been hitting quite high. The other day I hit a 31 with a dds! I was amazed. I'll post some screen shots when I get home.

On another note I'm thinking about trashing Runeshelf. I just think that it is not unique enough to survive. There are quite a few Runescape fan sites and they are all very similar and are well established. Instead, I'm going to be thinking a new unique idea that won't try and compete with these "mega communities".

If I do trash Runeshelf and start working on another project then I might apply to join the "blessings" clan. I've known of their existence for quite a long time and I read some of their members blogs. It sounds like a nice small clan. I think they have around 30 members.

Pondering ways to Recruit..

Well, runeshelf.com has been up for about 1 week now. The forums are up and our first guide was published on the main site last night. Now I have to ponder ways to recruit people to join this community that I'm trying to create. Honestly one of the best ways is for you guys (my readers) to tell people about it. We need people to be active in the forums!

Runeshelf is in a critical stage of development right now. There need to be key people who step up and become pillar members of the community.

Here are some of the ideas I've thought about in regards to getting the word out.

1. Have a thread going on the official Runescape forums.

This can be a little tricky because it is against the rules to let people know or talk about other websites besides Runescape.com. I have to be very vague. If you are feeling up to the task bumping would be appreciated. The thread is titled "runeshelf" and is under the clan recruitment section.

2. Research some SEO (search engine optimization).

The last I checked google still hasn't found runeshelf.com. When you search for runeshelf.com the result is this blog, if you search for just the word "runeshelf" a few other things come up along with this blog. But http://runeshelf.com will eventually show up on Google. It may take another week though.

3. Publish the Podcast.

Runeshelf is going to have a podcast. I'm hoping that people will find the podcast in other places (eg. iTunes etc..) and then come to the forums after they here us (on the podcast) tell them to.

In runescape I'm back to training at the dagannoths. I should get 88 strength tonight. At times it seems like my progress is going so slow and then at other times I'm amazed at how fast it's going. I've been learning a lot about merchanting in the Grand exchange from my friend Mark. He's gotten quite efficient at it. He has made about 1.5 mil in just a week and a half. He went from around 5.5mil to 7.2 mil if I remember correctly.

I am tempted to try and do a bit of merchanting myself. However, I know for a fact that it will slow down my strength training; so, I decided against it. Besides, I make quite a bit of money from the dagannoth drops. They drop snapdragon seeds which are quite expensive and they always sell well on the Grand Exchange. I even spent a bit of cash and bought dragon legs the other day. This is the first time I've ever had dragon legs. They do look quite nice. The price has dropped quite a bit in the last year or so. I payed around 800k I believe. I can remember when they used to be in the millions.

I achieved level 87 strength and level 79 hitpoints last night. Those two levels were enough to push me up a combat level. So, I'm currently 97 combat. Only three levels away from 100! I've always wanted to get the level 100 combat. There is something quite exhilarating about it. It may be the fact that your combat level in Runescape is one of the few things that you can get past level 99. Once you've gotten level 100 you've done it. Of course level 100 combat isn't nearly as impressive as it used to; because summoning raised the max combat level to 138 instead of 126. However, very few of my combat levels are from summoning. I'm only level 24 summoning and all of those levels have come from the Tears of Guthix mini-game. I've realised though, that I need to keep my combat level below 112 so that I can go pking in the medium level crater at bounty hunter. So, I've decided to not do Tears of guthix anymore since It raises my combat level with summoning and I don't need/want summoning at the moment.

The website (runeshelf.com) is coming along slowly but surely. Matt finished a new banner logo for the forums and I've been experimenting with different templates on the main site. We are also going to try and get a podcast and some more content out soon.

I really hope that the podcast will draw more people into the community. It is very hard to let people know about the website. But, Matt and I are working on ideas for that.

Strength! Runescape! Strength!

I got level 86 strength tonight. It was very nice. I decided to switch to training at the experiments in the swampy lands of Canafis for the next level and see if the experience rate is any faster than the daggonths. So thats where I am now. The experiments have there advantages and there disadvantages. An advantage is that I can just camp out there since they don't hit me. The disadvantage is that they don't auto attack me and since I kill them so fast now I have to keep on clicking. Another advantage is that there defence is quite a bit lower than daggonaths so I rarely hit 0's.

On the technical side of things Apple officially announced the 3G iPhone. It's going to be released on July 11th. The best news was that they are going to cut the price in HALF! Thats right! The brand spanking new iPhone packed full of new features is only going to be $199. This is pretty big news. I'm really tempted to get one. My cell phone plan expires in september.. So.. maybe? lol We will see ;-)

I've been working alot lately. It has been fun though since one of my friends was hired. So now I have a close friend as a co-worker. It makes work ten times more fun =)

I woke up. I got some clothes I could get dirty on. And then I took the winter cover off our pool. (this is quite a task because are pool is very big). Then I dragged it to the driveway to get hosed off. Then I ate breakfast. Then I went to work. Then I came home and ate a quick dinner. Then I went to play volleyball with some friends. Then we played a game called fugitive which involves a lot of sneaking and running through peoples yards. And now I'm here.

All in all I would say it was an excellent day.

In Runescape: I did a clue scroll that I got from the daggonoths. I got a bunch of junk and a yew composite bow. Then when I went to the grand exchange I found out that the yew composite bow was junk as well..(880gp)

Then I went to get another rune defender at the warrior guild since I had 200 tokens sitting in my bank. I was lucky enough to get one. So now I have 2. And now I'm at the daggonoths with only 209k experience to go till 85 strength.

I have finally gotten 84 strength! Onward to level 85 say I. Only about 260k xp till 85. I shall press foward. I'm starting full time at work tomorrow so we shall see how it works out with runescape and the website.

On another note, I saw the new Indiana Jones movie tonight.. It was pretty good. A typical Indian Jones movie. Quite unrealistic. But, enjoyable.

iTunes? what the heck apple?

People always say that Microsoft makes bloated applications that use way to much RAM. There are times that this may be true.. But, they aren't the only ones who do this...

I was just checking out the processes on my task manager and I noticed that iTunes was sucking up almost half a gig of ram! All I was doing was listening to music and scrolling through coverflow. I have noticed that whenever I scroll through coverflow iTunes starts to take more than its fair share of RAM.

There really isn't any excuse for this that I can think of. But, I'm biased and I like Microsoft.. What do you think?

Jagex has new level up messages. This is really an awesome update because they let you get the level up message when you're ready for it. Gotta get those screen shots ;-) Anyways.. I was doing tears of guthix and got level 24 summoning and here is a screen shot of the new level up messages.

School Is Over

Well school is over! I'm so happy! Now on to summer. I should be playing Runescape much more now. Matt and I are going to start planning the web site. His last day of school is today as well.

On a smaller note, while I was looking at the Runescape high scores I noticed that Zezima is no longer number one.. I'm not sure how long it has been like this? But he only has 77 summoning. So I'm guessing it has been this way for awhile. Here's a screen shot of the current no lifer standings ;-)

New Graphics?

Well, it has been quite awhile since I have written. My only excuses is school. Its coming to an end. Only two days left! This week is finals week. I just finished taking my Psychology final. It went fairly well I believe. It took me about 19 minutes to finish, but I was the third one done.

My Car is almost done being fixed. I have checking in on it every now and then. Dad called today and they said it should be done sometime late this week or early next week.

Over the summer Matt and I are going to try and build a runescape website. It's going to be a daunting task but I feel as though we should be able to full it off.

In runescape I haven't really done much. I've done a few clue scrolls here and there. And I've continued to train strength. I'm about 70k strength experience away from 84 strength. I'm still trying to get 99 strength. Also, Jagex releases a statement saying that they would be drastically improving the graphics very soon. This is awesome news. I can't wait.. Graphics has always been the week point in Runescape. It has been the one aspect that made it embarrassing to tell people that I played Runescape. I mean come on, the graphics do kinda make it look like a kids game. Granted the gameplay is phenomenal and that is why I play it. But, I'm very glad that they are working on improving their weak point.Here are some pictures of my new computer build. The specs are in a previous post.

Well I'm at school early this morning. My sister has a class and I didn't but I still had to come early.. Oh well. SO I'm sitting in the library just having a blast ;-) lol. not really.. But oh well. I've been keeping on strong with my strength goal. I've been training at the daggonoths underneath the lighthouse. Its very good xp and doesn't require constant clicking. I'm currently about 150k away from 84 strength.

I'm going to post some pictures of my computer when I get home from school today. Also, there is a chance that my car might be done getting repaired today. I think I'm going to go check. (it is getting repaired at the college).. The repair shop is a bit of a walk but.. its worth it.. I hope its done today. I hate not having a car.

On another note. Vista is fracking awesome. (fracking= very interesting word.. picked it up from battle star gallactica.. its a good alternative ;-))

A long break...

Well I have been away from Runescape for about a month now. I have kept up with the updates and logged on periodically but haven't really played. I am starting to play again. School is coming to an end and I will have more time at my disposal.

XspikeyhairX (matt) and I are going to hang out on Saturday and try and discuss plans for our website. Also I'm going to show him my new computer. I Just finished building it a few days ago. It is extremely awesome! I'll post the specs below for those who are interested. It was quite an educational experience. I love computers and hope to take my career in that direction some day.

As far as school goes its wrapping up for summer break. My finals are next week. And with a bit of studying and some luck I should be able to pull off all A's.

Well alot has happened. I got 82 strength but the screen shot got kinda messed up because the daggonoths attack almost constantly.. I also got a clue scroll which gave me green d-hide chaps (g). I sold those for 330k. I'm pretty high up on money now.. around 3 mil. Which is alot for me.. The most I've ever had in my runescape career is about 6 mil.

School is coming to end.. Tests and more tests are bombarding me ;-) I should pull through with all A's and B's though.

Also I have one more clue in my inventory that I have yet to do. I'm hoping to get a new item because jagex just released to clue scroll rewards.

Yes, I can hardly wait for summer! The very thought of it sends chills up my back. But, I need to stay focused and on task so that I can survive till summer.

My new training spot is at the daggonoths underneath the lighthouse. They give extremely good xp and don't require constant clicking. I'm about 30k away from 82 strength. I should get it tonight.

Earlier today I got a clue scroll from the daggonoths. I did it and got a bunch of junk.. I hate clue scrolls that give nothing. And on top of that it was really long..

I'm very annoyed with my little brother (morowhen).. He spends all his time in Runescape standing in Varrok Square with a little posse of what I like to call "pretty people"... They are a group of people who are obsessed with how they look and are constantly making new outfits. Then once they find perfect outfits they dance with each other in the middle of the city.. *sigh* I want him to be more skill orientated..

I'm training at the flesh crawlers in the Stronghold Of Security now. Tzaarhs take too much food.. I will hopefully get 82 strength today. Flesh crawlers have very good drops (lotsa runes)..

Also tonight my dad and I are going to a concert. Should be lots of fun.

Ugg spanish..

I woke up early and went to school today. I really hate spanish.. I can't wait till this class is done and I will be done with spanish forever.

Fist of Guthix came out yesterday afternoon. I'ts a pvp minigame (one of the ones that Jagex promised after they took the wilderness away). I tried it out and had quite a fun time. The rewards suck though.. So, after two games I went back to the tzahr caves to continue training strength.

Xpikeyhairx and I talked about building a website (runescape related) over the summer. It sounds like it will be awesome =) .. A sweet summer project.

I got about 40k strength xp last night. I switched training spots though. I am now training down in the tzarh area. From what I hear they have really good drops and I have about 4k cooked tuna just sitting in my bank so I might as well..

I have all the parts for the computer I'm going to build picked out. Now I just have to save up the money.. It shouldn't take too long.. I want to have it for sure built before my birthday. I should have no problem reaching my goal. I can't wait =)

My blog (this one) has yet to appear in search engine searches. It can take up to two weeks or more for Google to find it.. From what I hear Yahoo and other search engine's algorithms take less time.

Yesterday I talked with xspikeyhairx. It sounds as though he is giving up on strenth training. This is sad but he may change his mind.. I shall keep on keeping on!

93 Combat!

Lets start of with Runescape...

I have been diligent with my goal (99 str) so far. I have stayed constantly at the experiments only leaving once a week for Tears of Guthix. I'm currently at level 81 strength with a little over 200k xp. till 82. I'm still racing xspikeyhairx to level 99.. Last I heard he was at level 79. I was able to play for a few minutes at the library because my spanish class was canceled. While playing there I advanced to level 75 hitpoints. That hitpoint level was enough to boost me up to 93 combat! i have been gaining combat levels fairly rapidly. This is very exciting.
On Sunday I tried to make a runescape fan-site. I had been planning it out for awhile now.. It would have podcasts, a blog, and forums to start out. So, I registered a domain name (runeshelf.com) from go-daddy.com. Then I bought a year of deluxe webhosting... And started my creation. I used Filezilla for ftp software. My plan was to use joomla cms software to create my site. So, to make a long story short I got the joomla software installed on my server and started developing.. About midway through Monday I realized how much time this project would take. I realized with school and work that I wouldn't have enough time to do this. SO I called Godaddy back up and canceled my web-hosting plan (the expensive part) but I kept my domain name. I may try again in the summer but we will see lol.. --Btw my experience with godaddy was extremely good. Their customer service is awesome. I highly recommend them.

In other interesting news: The "PWN 2 OWN" contest is over. Basically this was a contest to test OS security. There were three laptops:

1. MacBook Air running OSX 10.5.2
2. Fujitsu U810 running Vista Ultimate SP1
3. VAIO VGN-TZ37CN running Ubuntu 7.10

Each laptop was fully patched and updated. The contest went like this:

Day1: All laptops will be open only for Remotely exploitable Pre-Auth vulnerabilities which require no user interaction. First one to pwn it, receives the laptop and a $20,000 cash prize.
The pwned machine(s) will be taken out of the contest at that time.

Day2: The attack surfaces increases to also include any default installed client-side applications which can be exploited by following a link through email, vendor supplied IM client or visiting a malicious website. First one to pwn it receives the laptop and a $10,000 cash prize.
The pwned machine(s) will be taken out of the contest at that time.

Day3: Assuming the laptops are still standing, we will finally add some popular 3rd party client applications to the scope. That list will be made available at CanSecWest, and will be also posted here on the blog. First to pwn it receives the laptop and a $5,000 cash prize.

So, basically the purpose was to try and hack into the OS and gain control of the computer. The contest went down like this: On day 1 no computer was hacked into. On day 2 the mac went down through a safari exploit. On day 3 vista went down through an adobe flash exploit.

The moral of the story is don't buy a mac lol ;-) Speaking of macs, the delete key on my mom's brand new mac-book isn't working and she has to send it back to apple and get a new one. From what she has told be it sounds like the file is corrupted or something weird.. I've never liked macs and I don't plan on starting. I would feel like I was stuck inside a cage and closed up in a tight system.

I'm currently trying to achieve my goal of 99 strength. I generally train on experiments and only leave to do tears of guthix or check out a new update.
